by the numbers

In homage to The Paper's favorite way of packaging information, I thought I'd do a By the Numbers Guide for my trip.

More pictures are coming today. Patience, kids, patience.

13 flights
55 hours flight time
4 ferries (3 Greek, 1 Jordanian, would've been 5 had we not missed the last high-speed boat to Athens. Sigh.)
2 minibuses (1 in Luxor, 1 in the Sinai)
3 buses (2 Egyptian, 1 Syrian)
2 subways (Cairo and Athens)
1 train
countless taxis
0 camel/donkey rides
12 cousins
2 aunts
9 (if not more) major archeological sites
4 marriage proposals (all refused)
12 hotels/hostels/pensions/etc.
6 private homes
3 travel companions
6 new bodies of water (Indian Ocean, Nile River, Red Sea, Dead Sea, Jordan River, Aegean Sea)

Four marriage proposals (all refused) is my favorite one.

How many hookahs did you smoke though, that's gonna be the toughie to count up...use your fingers, toes and the fingers and toes of your friends if need be!

Oooh. Good question. Probably about 8 or 10. Sadly, that's still not enough. ;)
